Get to know our local health and wellness professionals in the Twin Cities. We asked local therapist Kim Lovejoy to share a little about her business and what she loves about practicing in the Twin Cities.
Tell us about your business. What do you do?
I provide space for people to explore and embody their healing and resilience through somatic (body based) therapy.
I utilize different modalities to explore mind, body, heart and soul integration. I continue to evolve as more of a “woo woo” therapist over time, and I am open to and encourage many approaches to healing.
It’s not uncommon to discuss possible theories of past lives, using oracle decks to listen deeper to spirit, and creating altars with stones, crystals, and candles to bring more intention into my therapeutic work. I love looking for signs, symbols & synchronicities, and incorporate spirituality, somatic experiencing, yoga, and sandtray therapy.
What drew you to this work?
All of the modalities that I’m trained in have been a part of my own healing journey in deeply impactful ways.
Each approach that I’ve been guided to had a definite moment of “wow… this is powerful stuff and I must learn how to provide this for others!”
What do you love about your job?
I love the magic that I get to witness with my clients on an ongoing basis. I love feeling that I am just a portal, an empathetic witness, and each of my clients are empowered to experience the ability to tap into their own magic and innate capacity to heal and find deeper resilience in their lives.
What results can people see when they work with you? What’s possible?
My hope is that others feel held in a supportive space so that they can do the important work of letting go of veils that have gotten in the way of them accessing their deepest and truest loving nature.
What do you wish more people understood about what you do?
I wish people understood that we don’t have to have something “wrong” with us to seek out therapy.
There is so much power in having a witness to our journey in life; someone to hold space for us while we navigate where we are and where we would like to go, and to celebrate our moments of insight and deepening into our truth. We all deserve to be truly seen.
