Outdoor Yoga Classes to Try This Summer

There’s never been a better time for outdoor yoga. After months of online yoga classes, many of us are craving some in person interaction.

Practicing yoga outside is lower risk, since the air is pretty fresh and there’s plenty of space to keep physical distance.

Depending on where it’s held, you can connect more deeply with the earth and with nature during your practice.

A few considerations before you go:

  • Protect yourself from the sun – depending on the time of day, you may need to wear sunscreen or grab sunglasses.
  • Bugs are out! Bring some eco-friendly bug spray or put some on before you leave.
  • Bring your own mat and props – most studios are selling them right now.
  • As with any social interaction right now, there’s still some risk involved. Where a mask until class starts, stay home if you’re sick or have any symptoms.

Here are a few classes happening regularly around town this summer:

Yess Yoga9am Fridays at Washburn Fair Oaks Park across the street from MIA

Samadhi Yoga Mpls 6pm Mondays & Wednesdays, 10am Saturdays, 11am Sundays near Lake Hiawatha

Big River Yoga 9am Sundays at Brackett Park

Healing Elements9am Tuesdays, 7am Wednesdays and Thursdays in St Paul

Up Yoga11am Sundays, location flexible but always near Up Yoga Minneapolis studio

Ashley Sondergaard Yogavinyasa flow + yoga sculpt, dates and times vary, location is in Plymouth

Share this post with someone you want to do yoga with this summer! Now’s the time…I have a feeling it’s going to be a long winter.
